One of Bollywood's most successful directors, David Dhawan, celebrated his 75th birthday on August 15 with a grand celebration at his residence. The director, who turned 75 on August 16, hosted approximately 30 to 35 celebrity guests for the milestone occasion.
Star-Studded Guest List
According to exclusive information, the guests included a who's who of Bollywood. Besides his son Varun Dhawan, the attendees included Rajkumar Santoshi, Sunny Deol, Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Pradeep (Tutu) Sharma, Padmini Kolhapure Sharma, Dinesh Vijan, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Rumi Jafry.
A source close to the event revealed that David Dhawan doesn't typically throw parties, but this time he did so for the milestone birthday, "presumably at the insistence of his family members who dote on him."
A Legendary Career
David Dhawan began his career as a director with "Aandhiyan" in 1989. Over 37 years, he has directed 45 films, including super hits like "Aankhen" (1993), "Raja Babu" (1994), "Coolie No. 1" (1995), "Saajan Chale Sasural" (1996), "Hero No. 1" (1997), "Judwaa" (1997), "Deewana Mastana" (1997), "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" (1998), "Biwi No.1" (1999), "Haseena Maan Jaayegi" (1999), "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi" (2004), and "Partner" (2007).
His 45th film, "Bawaal," released just two months ago, starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde.
